Marcus is a Barrister on Foley’s List. Foley’s List is an independent group of over 300 Barristers servicing the legal community in all areas of legal practice. Marcus came to the Victorian Bar in 2006 and has been working as a Barrister for more than 16 years. Prior to becoming a Barrister, Marcus worked as a Solicitor for two years and then as an Associate to a County Court Judge, also for two years. In total he has been working as a lawyer in Melbourne for two decades.

Marcus is an expert in Family Law, and represents clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court and the Magistrates' Court (for associated legal proceedings). 

Over the years Marcus has represented hundreds of clients at all stages of Family Law proceedings including Mediations, Interim Applications, Final Hearings and Trials. He represents clients in matters that involve multiple complex parenting and financial issues. Marcus brings a mixture of common sense and legal acumen to issues such as the fair division of assets, best interests of the children, appropriate spend time arrangements, relocation, family violence and de facto disputes.

Marcus is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator with AIFLAM (the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators).

In addition to court appearances Marcus provides strategic advice and sometimes assists with drafting necessary court documents such as Affidavits and Outlines of Case.

In his spare time Marcus enjoys spending time with his two primary school aged children, riding his Royal Enfield motorbike and barbecuing over charcoal.
